I think he's actually being utilised incorrectly. Not that I didn't enjoy his work on Doom, because OP can fuck off it's still great, but I think he's actually much better at emotional, set-piece style tracks. More simple guitars, other minor sound effects and vocals, rather than layering 5 different electric guitar tracks and running it through 5 different synthesizers and noise generators (Exaggerated but you get the point).

Doom 2016 still has a great soundtrack though, and fits the atmosphere and tone of Doom really well, if I had any serious complaint rather than nitpicking it would be that it's a bit repetitive (And as stated it's not really utilising Mick's talents properly).

I can appreciate the sound design of the game but i absolutely despise the ost itself. It sounds like a cacophonous collection of annoying sounds scientifically perfected to cause as much ear rape and headache as possible. It's not suited for dynamic gameplay at all. Compare this shit to Quake 2's ost for example. It motivated, it moved forward, it was perfect for the game.

although i agree with you on the earrape part, i think that is what makes it amazing. This music is purposly designed to make your adrenalin pump hard. There is something great about literally ripping and tearing apart people while listening to satanic music. nothing gets my heart and dick more hard than this.

DOOM 2016 had the best game sound track I've heard in a long time. It's a bit repetitive, but it worked amazing in the game. I loved hearing music start quietly playing near nests, and found myself not wanting enemies to stop spawning because the music pumped you up.
