Those of you who started with 0, what's your plan going forward? Just playing the remakes as they release, assuming they consistently make them and they get consistently localized? How many people just wanted them to remake the first two so they didn't have to play PS2 games?

I don't really get Sega's apprehension about releasing Ishin.

The series was considered dead for the west after Dead Souls, we had to beg Sega for Y5, then ask Sony to beg Sega for us and we had Y5 localization announcement exactly 2 years minus 1 day after Japanese release.
Also that's the reason why we didn't get Ishin - they screwed up by holding Y5 for so long that they had to catch up to mainline games.

I think they're in the Soul skill tree below the center and you just need a total of 10 exp bars to unlock all three (3 bars per style finisher and a single 1 bar prerequisite.)

30 FPS on Pro with no screen tearing and faster load times for fights and other things with next to no frame drops. It's like mid 20s with screen tearing and drops on top of long load times for fights on base PS4. Fighting feels all over the place, your punches are incredibly light and yet you fly all over the place, weapons feel great to use though, and enemies can block at any point during any of your combos causing you to recoil for a second.

If you honestly want to know make a JP account and get the demo, the demo is the final game's first chapter but you just can't progress in the main story in Kamurocho, it stops you outside of Little Asia or whatever that area is supposed to be. All the performance issues in the demo are the same for the final retail release and the saves themselves for the demo work for the retail game.

I started playing this yesterday. I played maybe 10 hours of Kenzan before throwing in the towel, the combat in that game made me want to hurt small animals. Ishin's combat seems a little better so far but it also seems really really slow. Like, slower than it ever felt when you were using Saejima. I'm only maybe 6 hours in so maybe that'll change, lord knows there are a -lot- of upgrades to get, but so far it's only better than Dead Souls. Not sure I'd even put it over Kiwami 1 yet. Playing on hard right now and it's kinda kicking my ass. Died more times already than the past ... maybe -all- Yakuza games combined.

PS the karaoke timing seems completely messed up.

You just need to learn it, it only gets bad in the Houzoin Tournament and against sumo wrestlers. For normal enemies you back away a bit and then they'll drop their guard to run after you which means they can't block which means you can attack. If they are already blocking you can wait until you see them drop the block and start moving into an attack position and then you can attack them for a full combo. You also break combos every fifth or sixth hit for a couple hits (Bigger enemies are open for less) if you just mash square and triangle.

Getting stabbed and falling to the ground can be mitigated by the Ass Cushion or whatever the pin cushion is called in Kenzan which you get from Gyoutensei since from what I understand it negated that effect when I used it while in 3 onward it just makes getting up faster.

It's not just for the simple fact this Revelation exists and the UFO-sama substory exists. Then there's the Kabuki minigame, the main story besides the finale's level being great, and the characters (Especially Itou) being great as well. It also has the best Amon in the entire series up until where I am so far.

It has its faults like enemies constantly blocking (Which you need to learn how to get around), the insane amount of missable stuff, the requirements for Amon being tied with said missables, sumo wrestlers bypassing iframes, and tons of grinding if you want 100%, but everything else is pretty great.

Why didn't you preorder Kiwami?

The Majima Everywhere system is well. What it sounds like. Unlike the original game where you fought him in certain places. In kiwami he's well everywhere. As a bartender as a taxi driver as a gooddamn Zombie. etc etc.

It's more annoying then it sounds. Plus fighting him repeatably is the only way to make the Dragon of Dojima style stronger.

You have to fight him a whopping 50 times to gain every ability for the Dragon of Dojima style and some like his "Idol Majima" you have to hunt down, and its not as random as they have you like to believe as its all predeturmined. What sucks about it is that he will do this shit well after you get everything or if your just strolling around to do other stuff, its repetitive and annoying as fuck, and it gets in the way of the story. Two events make less sense due to this mechanic and its all in the name of fan service.
