OTR is pretty great, but the free roam mode carries over levels, & money to the regular mode iirc. Makes the grind less annoying, but also fuck the challenge a bit. Plus free roam has no zombrex to worry about.

I always default back to DR1 HD remaster. Before that came back I'd just replay vanilla DR1 after trying to get into OTR and failing again. Psychos are better. Not having OP weapon crafting is better. Survivors are far worse at pathing but they actually act like frightened civilians would act instead of like a trained SEAL team once you give them weapons in 2 or OTR. It's just a better game.

Yeah but when the world is big enough it seems kind of justified. I mean there is a very impressive amount of zombies that can be on screen at a time, and getting through hordes without a vehicle can be fucking ridiculous.
