people complain about dishonoured 2 giving you a "bad end" if you go around murdering everyone.

I think some people took the tooltip about it to mean that if they murder people then they lose, and that the "bad end" is a failure, but really it's the main way you're supposed to do it.

A stealth game should ideally give you no or very little in the way of being able to fight your way out of a discovery. Alternatively, it should make you so squishy that whatever bug out methods you do have can only be used sparingly.

play games designed around stealth, not with stealth added as an option for breadth.

play the new Styx of a thief or splinter cell or something, stop playing bad games with lots of mechanics and no depth and replace them with games that have lots of depth around a core ability set.

you'll get more mileage and you won't get the impression that a genre is bad. of course something is bad when it's done poorly and in the wrong place for it.
