Have you actually played it or just formed an opinion after looking at screenshots of them?
Gothic 3 is an unfinished mess. The combat sucks and you can cheese every encounter in the game by mashing attacks. It's also extremely repetitive since most of it consists of enemy spam and basically the same uninspired quests.
It also lacks the atmosphere of the previous games.

I thought that as well for a long time but fuck me if Saints Row 4 isn't actually really goddamn good once you get into it.

The "XD SO RANDUMB" humor of 3 is gone and instead you actually have some really funny and clever satire.

For example, in your ship which serves as your hub you have a crew who you talk to for plot updates. You also have a "romance" button, and if you press that with each character it gives you a pretty funny little gag scene.

I hate to admit when something like that is funny but when it hits it hits hard and it generally hits more than it misses.

There's also a pretty hilarious sidequest where you play through an NPCs bad fanfiction that made me laugh my ass off.

BC had the best raids but Wrath absolutely had the best zones.

Vanilla and BC zones were pretty bad. Wrath represented a major upgrade in the general quality of the zones. It tied everything that happened together into a larger story and gave you a better sense of progression. It didn't feel like grinding anymore.

Cataclysm was a clusterfuck for endgame, but the revamped zones were one of the absolute best additions to WoW. I made several alts that I never played past 60 just to see how the zone stories played out or to replay ones I enjoyed.

Sure Wrath zones were fine in design, great visuals and music, but nothing really beats crossing the dark portal and seeing the Outland, remnant of Draenor for the very first time, stairs of destiny playing in the background and then this amazing ambient of sadness, hope and war. After making your foot there and progressing further you make it to Zangarmarsh, a magical place lushing with life and danger ahead. It was a moment in time that will hardly be ever replaced.

Sure if you are a fan of the original RTS I can get why you'd fanboy over setting your foot on Northrend but actually visiting another planet with ancient alien history is something else. Also Wrath introduced all the convenience shit that just killed WoW over time and replaced it. You no longer were just an adventurer. Raids with difficulty settings (and I am not talking about modes you could dynamically turn on by doing something in the raid zones) and so on. Cataclysm is the true downfall and Wrath is actually fine but next to BC? It's not even in the same league.

Here's the problem I have with that, friend.

That initial shock of being in a neat new zone wears out very quickly and then you are reduced to doing more terrible and boring quests. The sequence of quests doesn't have a very good progression through the BC zones and the narrative behind them isn't terribly exciting.

Everything else in the game now, from level 1 to 110 is at least enjoyable to playthrough. You have a nice escalating sense of stakes as you start a zone and go through its chains to the end. Each event naturally leads to the next. The start and end points of quest are masterfully designed to never feel like you're wasting your time. They micromanaged their zones to the smallest detail.

BC zones by comparison feel like an amateur level designer played with his terrain tools, copypasted assets, and then flippantly wrote some text blurbs to loosely justify why you had to go kill 10 of an animal that is on the other side of the zone and then come back to him so that he can give you the next quest to go to the other side of the zone that you were just at again.

When you start a new WoW character nowadays 1-60 is fun as hell, 70-110 is fun as hell, but 60-70 is a fucking slog.

I got BC the night it came out and played it religiously for years but let's just be straight up: It is the worst leveling content currently in WoW. It is a boring ten levels that drag on forever. Endgame was 10/10 but that doesn't exist anymore, what we're left with is shitty leveling content that just isn't fun.

it's really hard, i've played the 1st, the 2nd, revelations (or 2.5), the 3rd and the 4th
the first, obviously, was pretty empty, since it's the start of the franchise
the second was a bit better with just a bit more gameplay and more side quests
the third was harder when you finished the game and tried to kill a group of dude (also the reload was pretty realistic, took like 5 sec for the pistol, 8 for the musket, unless you were spotted or in the middle of a combat, it was fine)
the 4th was pretty awesome, the reload was ridiculously faster, but not enough to rely only on them constantly

Felt like a single player MMO for most of the quest. Party was good but it was the last party actually written by the people who made good parties before they left for other studios. Big empty quest zones. Knight Enchanter was the only fun class because it let you solo dragons and that was because it broke the game in half balance wise.

If you enjoyed AC2, you'll probably enjoy Brotherhood. It's very good, not quite an AC2, but it's a close second place. The Multiplayer made it the best in the series for many at the time, but that won't factor in anymore.
