I can't get past level 30 without becoming bored out of my mind and quitting.
I've played a bunch of MMOs, and to date the only two that have caught my attention enough to get me really into them are old Archeage and FF14. But Archeage was brutally murdered and FF14 costs way too much, so it doesn't really matter.

It pisses me off how nobody talks about it. Yeah, it's a hotkey MMO, but WoW handles like a dream. Everything is instantly responsive. Your character does exactly what you want it to all the time, occasional terrain clipping aside. But why does it piss you off, anon, that nobody talks about it? Because almost nobody seems to realize how important it is. Every fukken MMO (and even single-player third-person games) that come out these days handle like crap. Slow-ass 'kinetic' gameplay where every-fucking-thing you do animation locks you. Can't even change the direction you're moving in without getting animation locked. And they all have shit UIs that lack basic features like the ability to truly understand wtf your abilities do. AND they all have shitty, unwieldy cameras that are way too zoomed in. Even WoW tried to implement that last one back in WoD but enough people whined that they mostly changed their minds about it.

And I fear this is the way of the future. Once WoW finally dies, every single MMO and third-person game to be made will handle like utter shit. And people will keep mindlessly praising them because that's popular is popular is popular.

If the end game process as as smooth as the leveling, I'd still be subbed to WoW, I really enjoy how responsive everything is.

But god damn, fucking daily (artifact) grind, and stupid weekly lockouts for wellfare gear... that's all there is to it, oh well and some dumb grinds for more pets and mounts, as if you could use more than 1 at a time. If only it had some real crafting progression, or world drops that actually mattered, and gold was more meaningful, I'd farm and grind all day, rather than be forced into daily/weekly garbage to just keep you subbed.

Am I the only one who loved the leveling experience in WoD? I just leved my characters 90-100 one at a time and had a blast doing it. And I still enjoyed outfitting them with Tanaan gear. It's the part after that where I lose interest.

Without the ICC buff around 12k was the highest on a patchwerk like fight. so sub 10k dps for anyone not in full BiS heroic 25man gear

FFXIV doesn't have a token grind anymore since a long time. Before 2.3 (aka the patch that made the whole game casual), you had to grind tokens to get gear to be able to do instances and then raids. This progression doesn't exist anymore. You do the story, which barely has any level requirements anymore (You walk to point A from B and take your free xp, no need for side quests or leves). For completion, you get welfare gear which skips all instances in the game but one raid. Now you grind the same raid over and over until a piece drops for you, after that, you essentially have the best gear in the game.
