An NFC tag for it is like a dollar (20 cents if you can wait for them out of China), if you care about it that much and you aren't an iPhone owning retard you can just write a Samus "Amiibo" in seconds.

Even if you do own an iphone, you could get a used NFC-compatible android phone for 40 bucks, even less with cosmetic damage. Cheaper than buying the things and then the DLC costs for all amiibo content is trivialized.
