That's basically my biggest issue with Overwatch.
How good are the players in each team is nearly irrelevant, team composition matters way more, which is generally speaking a good thing, but because it's a relatively new game aimed towards a casual audience, everybody wants to be the heroxDd.
Even in god damn League of Legends people understand what a team composition is, because Riot actively enforces that. One thing that can save this game, is if Blizzard introduces queue system with predetermined positions until people realize that 5 DPS won't win you shit against a balanced team.

League of Legends is a lot different.
In Overwatch personal skill barely matters, you have to be a lot better than everyone else to consistently climb, and it's basically impossible to get out of bronze/silver unless you are high diamond or can play 24/7 and climb by basically bruteforcing on a weekly 10 sr increase. (or you practice aiming/know it already and spam McCree, but if you can aim why are you playing OV?)
In League you don't have to be diamond to get out of bronze. There are plenty ways a slightly better player can singlehandedly win games.

Depends on where you are.

If you're below diamond you can absolutely 100% carry with a DPS like Soldier or Genji. People blow ass both mechanically and in terms of coordination/game-sense. If you can't DPS carry in plat or below you suck at shooters, full stop.

In Diamond you can't reliably carry as DPS, and games tend to be decided by which team has the worst player rather than which team has the best player. Rising in solo Q tends to rely on your ability to not tilt and to prevent teammates from tilting. The game has an absolutely tiny mechanical skill ceiling so once you're in Diamond (where most everyone has reached it) games are won through properly setting up your teamfights.

Masters and up is all ult economy garbage and is boring as shit

So the way that Overwatch calculates your SR gain and loss is in large part informed by your average score-per-minute compared to the general average for the character.

Sombra is played by almost nobody, especially at the higher ranks, and therefore her average SPM is incredibly low. This means that you can play Sombra every single match, win maybe 30% of them, and still climb ridiculously fast because you lose no SR and gain a hundred a victory.

My problem with the game is that there's no REAL "casual" games. It's always 6v6. Quickplay is not my idea of casual: both teams are competent or both teams are incompetent, and either can result in a fun game you can actually do stuff in. This is less than 1% of the time in my experience. Commonly either my team or the enemy team pick a hyper competitive line up and roll over the enemy team trying to have fun, or vice versa. Sometimes you get the retards, sometimes they get the retards.

The experience of playing a character is horribly, horribly dependent on the competency and picks of yours and the enemy teams. This means you can rarely play the character you actually want to as much as you want to (unless your favourite character is Zarya or something). Why yes you CAN play Pharah when you have no support and the enemies are organized and have mccree/soldier, but that's not really playing Pharah. That's playing spawn room simulator.

Competitive is the other option, but it is also filled with mobaddies who are simply horrid to be around. It gets really draining to play competitive. Even in the higher ranks people are autistic and throw, very little opportunity to play off-meta, etc. I don't know what they could do to fix casuals honestly. Maybe 12v12 would result in a slightly better experience where 1-2 shitters doesn't mean you don't get to play your character properly. But I've stopped deluding myself that overwatch is the FPS for me. I really don't know what would be anymore. Overwatch came so close, but the way it falls just short of where it should be in every single regard is like razors under the finger nails

Having a game built around ult usage is super boring. It makes every moment where your team doesn't have ults a snorefest phase of the game. Once you get into higher levels and people generally stop getting themselves killed one by one, you have to rely on ult bombing to break through a chokepoint. If you fail, you gotta farm up ult again. The defensive team has no reason to use their ults unless the attackers make a push, so it will always be ult wars. That's the true problem with ults, not the whole I win button thing.

In addition, ult charge is an active punishment against hero swapping which is supposed to be a huge part of the game design apparently. Ults were a mistake.

I played Overwatch because of the memes and I realized fast that this game is made to waste your time.

In competitive I played only Mercy to see how Blizzard will match me, because I also have a top 500 acc where I got carried and then stayed in top 500 only with solo q as Mercy. I'm able to be constantly in top 500 with Mercy, but here is the joke. With my Mercy only account I can't get out of Plat. I got matched with so many retards, that I realized Blizzard is actively forcing you to lose.

Of course I could get into top 500 with my solo Mercy only acc as well, but I would need to spend my whole free time to get into top 500 but I only have a few hours each session to play.

You have to realize that Overwatch is a time game. If you have a good PC and are not mentally retarded (a lot of Blizzcucks are retarded) you can get easily to top 500, but WHY? Only to get some virtual points for wasting hundreds and hundreds of your valuable life hours into a shit game where the only fun you have is if you turn off the game?
