Without consoles the gaming industry would instantly die due to a multitude of reasons. PC gaming is only acceptable in its curresnt sad state because it still gets console ports (like Witcher2/3, Doom(2016), Deus Ex:HR, Wolfenstein2, Nier:Automata, etc) and manages to run them better. In and of itself PC game is trash and completely died around 2004.
The industry without consoles would turn into the lowest possible effort to maximize profits, so it would become.. well... PC gaming as is. A bunch of EarlyAccess/Kickstarter scams, F2P shit, and online games with markets/microtransactions (CS:GO, Overwatch, Dota2, etc), as well as facebook games and online casino games.
There would no longer be any AA or AAA single player games, only indie shit at best. Pretty much every publisher would die, so would every AAA studio and all but the smallest AA studios, most of the best developers in the world would quit gaming and follow other passions.

Be careful what you wish for. Like I said in the beggining, you are but a small dog (PC) with a superiority complex. You bark at your owner (consoles) because he gives you food (multiplats) for free, you think he's your slave and pretty useless. You're so much better than him after all, why do you even need him in the first place? Why not just get rid of his ugly face and get your own food? I mean, as far as you know the food just appears magically on a bowl every day, you don't need your stupid human to make that happen.

PS4 has enough games that I can't play on my PC. I bought a Switch at launch, beat Zelda in a week and haven't touched it since.

I have an xboner but since I bought a longer HDMI cable and plug my PC directly into my TV I no longer use my Xbox for Netflix or Plex. I'm considering just getting rid of it. I haven't played a game on it that doesn't start with Halo. Fuck that thing and fuck Microsoft for caving to the backlash when they announced it wouldn't use physical media anymore. A true all-digital console would really be next-gen but instead we got a rehash of the 360 which was a rehash of the Xbox 1. At least Nintendo try new things even though it doesn't always work out.

I'm waiting for Black Friday to come round then I'm going to buy a 1440p 144Hz monitor, a 4k TV and a 1080ti to power it all. Can't wait.

Exclusives.
Call it anti consumer or whatever you want, and yeah some of them criticisms about exclusive are valid sure, but the point of them all existing are really only exclusive games to each platform.

3rd party games, while carrying and having a surprise amount of power over at least xbox1 and ps4, dont really matter since due to the surprisingly large amount of power they hold over those 2 console manufacturers making it so that more often than the console one gets dont really matte.

Except for Nintendo which at least for the while has been a tad left out. But that again circles back to exclusives being the main and actual appeal of them consoles.

And that 95% of all PC exclusive franchises from the 90's and early 2000's would not be dead by now.

I'm not even sure why you went for console exclusives. You can simply look at multiplats, which wouldn't exist if not for consoles.
