I've been getting back to 4U, and i don't know what drove me back, but my save file is a mess right now, I am working to get more money and points, I am forging new weapons and armos as well as increading the item combo list because I learn all this in Gen and decide to play 4U properly. right now im using a poisonous Battleaxe SnS and is giving me an easy time with the monsters and also because i can maneuver better with that weapon.

HR7 is definitely a challenge, at least it was for me, considering 4U's my first MH game. The Seltas S armor paired with the Brach CB actually got me through most of HR7, but I ended up using the Seregios GS to take on Dalamadur and Ukanlos.
If you really need money, I usually just end up selling ore because I always end up with hundreds of the stuff. I stayed in HR for a very long time before finally getting the courage to take on G. Hall. Just don't sell Earth Crystals like I did and then have to go and farm a fuckton of them.

I've played both 4u and gen to near-completion, the only thing setting me back in 4u is grinding double rajangs and 140 GQs for-fucking-ever, and in gen I'm stuck getting the barrage earrings because fuck arena quests, and fuck brachy in particular.

What's a hunter to do? Getting gud only goes so far for some of these weapon choices.

Yeah, A-ranking them. I was doing most of my shit solo, and I figured arena would be the same. I guess I'm too much of a shitter to meet some of these time limits. The selections don't help, seeing as how some of them are unnecessarily gimped by either the skills or by the style you're forced to use, and I believe the defense for all of the armor given isn't very forgiving either. Ping's dex doesn't show the styles so I'm not sure which set has what style, but I tried nearly all of them and failed to beat brachy in under 10 minutes each time.

I looked at some rooms online at the time and I think I tried at least one or two, but failed, either in doing the hunt or finding a room, or making a room and have nobody be interested.

I'm pretty mediocre at these games for amount of playtime I pump into them; or rather that's what I think of myself as others don't really complain about me very often. I got all my awards around september of 2016 in gen so I had plenty of people to do arena with who were aiming for a-rank but my advice would be to reach out to active communities for help. I won't name any in particular but I wouldn't do arena solo and I sure as shit wouldn't play with any pubbies at this point in the game's lifecycle as anyone with any interest/skill has long since left gen to sit on their hands for world or went back to 4U and refuse to play anything else. Barrage earring is worth it for mixing though, so don't give up!

You can occasionally buy trap tools from the merchant by the eastern bridge for like 100 each when he has a sale going on. Make sure you're upgrading your farm and getting mats from it after every mission. Make sure you're almost always planting 3x might seeds and fertilizing it with either dung you find in missions (doing a few dung runs in peaks is always a good idea) or high quality ash you get from cooking on the 10x spit. Might seeds are the highest value things you can farm and will be your main source of income allowing you to buy pretty much whatever you want.

What's the armour variety like in XX? One of my main problems with X is that you can barely mix 2 sets together because the game stopping at HR means that the amount of skill points you can get per piece of armour is incredibly low.

Coupled with the deviant system forcing you to wear the full set and having almost no gem slots on your armour means you can't fashion hunter at all.

I managed to scrape together some mixed Gore S/R but it's nowhere near the amount of variety I could get with 4U. I played about 4x as much 4U as Generations as well, oh well.

With the way the damage formula and stat gains from leveling up works, just stick to all physical or all magical classes. Endgame equipment ends up mattering a lot more than the base stats do anyways.

Objectively? Magic Archer is really fucking broken, especially in tight spaces, but they're all viable for the whole game except for maybe Mage.

Scripts and Cheat Engine make warrior pretty good in Dragon's Dogma. Having access to 6 skills or all of them if you don't mind breaking the game completely. at once fixes every problem the class has besides being unable to easily deal with magic-only enemies.

The 6 skills was just the first change for Warrior.
The real glory in DDO is the Brace ability they get.
When you use it you go into a very short window of massive damage reduction, around 90% I think. So that finally gives Warriors a defensive option. Also builds up your rage meter which leads into big heavy hitting attacks as well.
