Valve is just responding to consumer demands, multiplayer is completely overshadowing the singleplayer market for PC. They just no longer see it as a profitable venture, and I don't blame them since they're a business first and foremost. It sounds depressing but consoles are honestly our only hope for AAA singleplayer games being released (that's if they're ported), but even that can be subject to change.

People having varying power levels on a team creates more of a teamwork element because it forces you to divide your focus in more unique ways and do it situationally. Other than basic focus priority, the game never requires you to focus extra team power on a specific target because nobody can get more powerful than anyone else.
If nothing else, it creates a shit ton more depth and possible gamestates than HotS could ever hope to have.

The only "teamwork" HotS has compared to Dota is the same kind you see in tug of war. Yes, everyone's combining their forces and "working together," but nobody's actually interacting with each other or filling each other's strengths and weaknesses - THAT'S actual engaging teamwork gameplay. The teamwork focus people attempt to praise HotS for is just cumulative power, and it's only worse for the game because it has less actual team interaction and it means one person not doing their job is even more capable of dragging the whole team down.

I play every monster hunter that comes out and i always clear every quest including dlc, i have multiple consoles from multiple makers, but that doesn't change the fact that I play more dota the the all other games combined. Not really, Early Access is the cancer killing video games. Just look at PUBG. You pay to test their game for them. While they jew you with microtransactions instead of fixing the bugs. Bugs that you cannot attack them for because it's an alpha. An alpha with cosmetics and a tournament. Tournaments that invite based on ladders in a buggy as fuck alpha game. Buggy? Can't bring that up because it's an alpha. Also they can and will ban you depending on the severity of a bug you find. There's been a handful of people banned because buildings never spawned for them. Obviously it's 100% their fault that the game is steaming shit, and deserve to be banned for it.

Great thing is that it really feels like a custom wc3 map with additional things (like saving multiplayer progres with party) Lot of quests and stuff to do, the map is huge. Here are the characters, they are not related with dota they all have thier own skills.

Valve singleplayer games were always short lived novelties with no substance that took half a decade of development time. Dota 2 is their best game yet.

The only reason why is dota still alive and relevant is only because of the competitive scene. /v/ hates esports so they hate dota most of the time. The game is hard and to fully enjoy it you have to play thousands of hours.

the old system used up to ~mid 2016 was literally "you get reported, you get low priority". If you carried a game you would literally get rage reports from the enemy team and eventually end up in low prio(although it was tolerable since for most of that time, you could just do bot matches or AFK, you didn't have to win the low prio game). I didn't even speak in dota and I still ended up in low prio with no abandons or ragequits. after that, the system was based on how many reports you got in a certain timeframe, which led to people mass reporting streamers "for the lulz" and having them stuck in low priority(Play one game? Well hope you enjoyed it because now you have to play and win 5 low priority games vs other people). Now it's a toned down version of the previous system, but it's still possible to have lots of low prio games if you get report happy players. Oh also I forgot to mention, the previous system you could get reported 4 times by a 4 stack and have it count as 4. Which was pretty much always a trip to low prio
