Shit flowed nicely between games, nowday we have stuff like in 2.8 where everyone now starts saying "May your heart be your guiding key" and that shit just doesn't sit well with me

We never see the killer and just because Marluxia shows up last right after that is definitely too convenient and "in your face" making it seem like he's the killer.
However Marluxia was the traitor in CoM and is literally called "Graceful Assassin" so pretty much everyone assume it's him and that the twist is that there is no twist or red herring and it was played completely straight.

Also possibly not time travel involved either, but something similar to Aqua. Time flows differently in different worlds and realms. Aqua's been in the realm of darkness for 10 years and hasn't aged.
