Totodile. I'm about to grab Blue on VC and hope I don't get too burned out on Pokemon before GS release, but if I do I guess I'll just wait for Crystal.

I like Squirtle most of the gen 1 starters, but my autism prevents me from selecting two water starters in a row and I like Totodile more than Squirtle. Also frees up an opportunity to get Poliwrath on the team in Blue.

I thought this was one of those "it's 1999" threads, but I forgot they were coming out for VC.

Everytime I've played Gen 2, I've traded to get all 3 starters. I restarted my game like 9 times when HGSS came out so me and my friends could have a complete set.

Didn't care enough to replay Red and Blue when those were released on VC, but Gold and Silver have enough of a place in my heart that I'm considering it.

As a kid I chose Cyndaquil just because I was a firefag, this time I think I'll go with Totodile. I've always thought Chikorita and its evos were pretty shit, at least design-wise

There have been major changes to how the games work from gen 3 onwards. How do Gen1 pokemon work if transferred to the pokemon bank, any different than, say, the same pokemon from fire red? What's stopping me from just playing heartgold and transfering my pokemon from there?
