The legs of a Bethesda game is determined by the modding community, and all though Fallout isn't as big as TES the activity in the modding scene between Skyrim and Fallout 4 is night and day.

Depends on how the game is recieved critically.
Todd admits the voiced protag and dialog wheel were a mistake and most agreed that skills should have stayed, however literally no one outside of /v/ or NMA so much as made a peep about the writing so that aspect (which unfortunately happens to be the most important aspect of a Fallout game) is going to remain untouched. Fallout 4 was literally the biggest disappointment of my gaming career. I gave into the hype and was so let down by how stripped the game was compared to New Vegas which I naïvely thought Bethesda would try to emulate and build on. I honestly cannot stand Fallout 4, it is not a Fallout game as far as I'm concerned and it's barely an RPG. I can't say that I'm all that surprised at how well it sold though, unfortunately we'll probably be seeing even more casualization of Bethesda's games when TES6 is released.

I'm a Morrowind fan, I tried Oblivion at the time and found it too "not-rpg" for me, so I dropped it and haven't played anything bethesda since. I guess it boils down to "if you don't like them don't play them" because they surely will not change.
