Because it was fuckmassive expensive and also didn't have the marketing.
>>
>>388160857

Oldfag here. I distinctly remember paying around $60-$80 for a Neo Geo pocket with Sonic from toys R us in the late 90's. You're full of shit.
>>
>>388160779
Because the A and B buttons are in the wrong spots. The dreamcast fucked the same shit up and look what happened to that.
>>
>>388160820
This is what truly killed any potential it could have had. It never had a chance.
>>
>>388160779
Original SNK was busy dying and pulled from foreign markets before the NGPC was even a year old. Some games had translated versions ready but never got shipped.

Damn shame, I had several NGPC games and even used the Dreamcast link feature.
>>
because its name isn't gameboy

look at what's happened to lawbreakers for another example

It also had a wireless link cable.
>>
Because the Neo Geo wasn't successful to begin with.

You must have really high standards. Only the PS2 lasted longer.

I've never seen that before, neat. Most I ever used the cable for was trading cards with my brother in Card Fighters Clash.

>CFC and CFC EX were fun as fuck games
>CFC DS took a giant steaming shit on everything

Still feel betrayed.
>>
>>388161839

I'm so glad I got the Flash card. Playing the Fan-translation of Card Fighter's Clash 2 on real hardware is fantastic. Too bad nobody wants to translate the biomotor Unitron sequel.

Because that Sonic and that Metal Slug sucked.
>>
same reason why game gear, lynx and wonderswan failed, it just didnt have nintendo's market share

2nd mission was better. I mostly played faselei on it.
>>
>>388162307

The Game Gear died because it was a battery vampire. Shit never lasted more than 6 hours.
>>
>>388162307
The first Lynx was too big, was a battery hog, and Atari was on its way out
>>
>>388160779
I had the clear one with bubble bobble and sonic pocket adventure
shit was dope

>competing against Nintendo and Pokemon
>>
>>388164274

It gave you your horoscope too. I don't think the game-boy ever had an alarm either (the DS did though).
>>
>>388164359

Oh fuck, I remember this. Wasn't this the game where you killed demons & had death feed their souls to your gun for power-ups? I never got to buy this before they pulled them off the shelves.
>>
>>388163612

Th Lynx had literally nothing worth playing on it though. Outside of the mahjong & pachinko slot games, every title on the system is worth playing.
>>
I love this little thing but, like these guys said
>>388160820
>>388162307
It didn't have the initial pull to get consumers in. When it launched in the US it was actually on par with the Gameboy Color's price point, but by then the Gameboy already had a huge namebrand recognition and pokemon only served to make sure no other handhelds at the time could reasonably get through that.
tldr: It launched at the worst possible time for any handheld
