Well this completely fucks up the fundamental role of the character as a mass resurrector and tries to force her into becoming yet another DPS character.
Res once every 30 seconds is too damn slow, unless you're moving as a group and only one of your guys dies every now and then. Sure it functions well enough then.
But any situation where more than 2 of your guys are dead and with many enemies around, forget it.
And if anything, this new skill will only encourage the hell out of hiding, because you get a res without doing shit and can swoop in from behind a corner to give it.

They should have done this differently, by giving her a flying and multi heal/buff ability every 30 seconds, while keeping the ult as it was.
If they wanted to nerf her and the ult, they should have considered taking away the momentarily invincibility from everyone during res.
It's like they want a casual game that has the widest appeal, yet at the same time they listen to the griping DPS crowd who's salty when they fail to kill the support and their chain ults go to waste.
You can't exactly turn the game into a Call of Duty, while trying to keep the super casual female audience playing it.

Video games are too big now. The goal now is to release a product that will interest as many people as possible, that offends as few people as possible, while having some kind of hook that keeps the players invested usually through some kind of instant gratification. While you can set out with mostly good intentions, all you end up doing is creating a game that brings in the type of person who gets caught by those hook the most often. This translates into Overwatch as the instalock hanzo/widow/genji players, "Mercy Main" Syndrome, and throwers. If they can't do the thing they want to do right now, they don't want to be involved.

It's pretty similar to the Roadhog hook changes a few months back where everyone who played Roadhog in a particular way suddenly found themselves unable to use the character. The hide and seek Mercy mains are the same as Flankhog mains in this regard.

Honestly, her Ult is probably just going to be a "get the fuck off me winston/tracer/genji" button instead of having to be babysat by a teammate. Instead of soaking ultimates with Rez, she soaks Ultimates with her Chainhealing/boosting while being super mobile. Besides, if you utilize the fact that her new Ult resets the Rez cooldown, you can fly in>rez>ult>rez>10s>rez and get 3 people up, probably 4 people if the stars are aligned; I forget how long the death timer is once you die since I haven't played since last season.

Pharah has had pretty consistent mid-level performance for someone that hasn't been touched since they changed her hover, in a game where everybody is either ubiquitous or never used. She has excellent burst damage output and with the addition of Doomfist as another high damage/high mobility hero there have been some high profile plays to use the two to shut down dive. Keep in mind this is all accounting for the fact her ultimate almost never gets used without heavy setup and she just floats around just constantly engaging.

With D.Va's defense matrix nerf and Mercy's buff, Pharah's profile is about to get a lot higher and I think she'll be up for a nerf if people can't cope.

Honestly, if anything Pharah's ultimate just needs a rework. Give her better durability in general, let her be able to move, or do what other games do when they need to do somebody shooting a rocket barrage and just make it the danmaku homing rocket version of Soldier 76's ultimate instead of a stationary target.

Overwatch has been shit ever since they removed picking a hero multiple times.

Overwatch is genuinely the most unfun and unsatisfying game I've ever played.
I've gotten a one man team kill as Reaper before and singlehandedly brought the game back from the brink and I felt nothing because we've been put in that shitty scenario to begin with thanks to my team.

Every game is just the same shit that blurs together. Some fag is just there wasting space and essentially throwing because he's assmad that we're not conforming to whatever hip meta team is out, half the people completely forget the objective exists and go trying to get simply epic POTGs and picks, basically leaving it against maybe 2v6. Or you're lucky enough for it to be 6v2 and steamroll them with absolutely zero resistance or effort. Everything about this game seems like it actively discourages teamwork, from getting eliminations pop up on your screen even if someone else did 90 percent of the work. It still counts as a kill you did, inflating everyone's K:D ratio and more importantly, their ego. Nobody can check stats so they just say "trust me bro, I got gold in damage" when they're clearly not working. POTGs are rewarded to only one person for pressing Q correctly.
