IMO Bioware is very good at emotional engagement and main character development, but has generally hamfisted and silly general writing.

CDPR has much better and nuanced general writing, but very little character development/emotional engagement writing, and that really took away from the series IMO. Maybe I feel that because I had become acclimated to Bioware games.. dunno.
