Good Andromeda is horrendous bioware is trash with their SJW politics hope anthem fails too I will be laughing
Archived version if you don't want to give Bioware page views:
http://archive.is/PM2HU
BioWare Montreal's penance for turning the Mass Effect franchise radioactive is its consumption by the EA Borg cube. Austin is still plugging along with SWTOR, but not the fate of the BioWare name lies with Edmonton and their new IP, Anthem.
>>388105286
And Dragon Age 4, almost forgot.
>>388105286
Well, they've got their work cut out for them-I'd be surprised if Activision didn't drop a Destiny 2 expansion to coincide with their release.
>>388106996
I think they're partially planning on that. Anthem has a whole year to prepare, and Destiny 2 has a whole year to see Anthem coming. No doubt Bungie will have something planned to keep the fatigued players from jumping ship to Anthem.
>>388107334
Likely, since the two seem to be aiming for the same market-though there's still time for Bioware to make some big, sweeping change that sets the two apart. Otherwise, it might just turn into a game of tug-of-war, with people going to the other one when it gets a content update. Worst-case scenario, it sinks because everyone who'd play it already has Destiny.
>>388107794
The Division is still making money and plugging along with its big updates. So long as BioWare (and EA) remain committed to the title, I think it'll find its place.
So how long is it gonna be now until EA shitcans anything Mass Effect related?
>>388108164
Someone at EA literally just the other day did an interview, and said the series isnt done, because they think it still has a large fanbase and many stories still to tell. Casey Hudson also basically said the same thing a few days ago. So ME isn't dead, the question is how long until they do another game?
>>388108164
>>388108557
Mass Effect is on ice right now, as the IP is practically radioactive, so don't expect any new entries for at least a few years.
>>388108557
Some time after Anthem, most likely. Edmonton's busy working on the new IP, and the Montreal experiment made EA eat a lot of crow. But who knows? If Anthem does well enough, they might drop Mass Effect entirely for the new sci-fi action-RPG darling.
>>388108557
The franchise might not be done, but i'm pretty sure calling your potential buyers morons for not buying a shit game is going to hurt quite a bit.
>>388108164
Bioware is making Anthem and then the 4th DA game. Anything from ME, if it happens at all, will come in the 2020s.
>>388105253
The fact that Bioware is arrogant enough to dedicate a calendar date to their shitty IP is telling. Pretty sure none of the fans asked for that at first, and now they have to scratch something together to appease the poofs who played their garbage game.
So is Andromeda the new TORtanic?
>>388109359
No because everyone saw it coming.
>>388109359
Considering it caused the studio to get merged and purged, I'd say so.
>>388103963
RIP ME
I thought of this after EA blamed Andromeda's failures on people being too critical about it.
How did inquisition do? The comments in this thread say it's getting another installment. However, id say the disappointment in DA 2 is comparable to that in ME 3 and Andromeda was just inquisition in space so, not knowing anything about sales figures, if assume they were in the same boat
>>388105250
Stop posting the worst version of this.
>>388103963
Thanks for making this exact thread again
So which company is most likely to go down first, EA, Ubisoft, or Activision?
>>388103963
F
they were a legendary dev, may they download additional content in peace
>>388105253
Can someone give me archived version of the archived version? Because I don't want to give the archived version views.
>>388110782
All of them?
Literally all of them are converged by marxism.
Doomed to failure.
>>388110540
Apparently it was the most successful launch in Bioware history. Got a lot of awards, too-there wasn't nearly as much that people actually hated about it (except for Sera).
>>388110540
I'd say Inquisition did a hell of alot better than Andromeda did.
what are the chances of anthem being riddled with sjw shit?
i have about 70 hours in DA:I and i've noticed it, but not as much as people here are claiming
>>388103963
>final update
Didn't this game have a season pass?
>>388112273
If Mass Effect Andromeda is a sign, they'll probably double down super hard with Anthem.
>>388111138
Are you the same anon in the /pol/ thread about Deus Ex? The (incorrect) use of the word converge in both threads is pretty telling.
>>388112273
Far too early to say. There's no details on the interactions with PCs and NPCs in the hub city; the only things they've really shown off is the action out in the field, which is almost assuredly the core focus of the game. I'm sure there will be a couple progressive characters or aliens, but I anticipate them to be in a more subdued state like they are in The Division (e.g. the female doctor you rescue for your base passingly mentions having an ex-wife, and you eventually get a mission later on to find her as part of a missing persons report because said person is "important" to the doctor).
>>388110591
I like how the version actually by the original artist is the worst version
>>388110782
Ubisoft, if Vivendi continues the hostile takeover.
>>388112273
>>388112432
>>388112654
Plus, they had to have seen the blowback Montreal got for that one trans character in Andromeda they fucked up. Andromeda is proof that you cannot coast onward by blatant virtue signalling.
>>388112432
I think it's possible they've learned that a minority label alone does not make a compelling character. After all, a ton of critics derided the ME:A characters for being flat and boring despite their apparent diversity.
>>388112878
>>388112880
They literally stated that people we're being way too harsh with the criticism for Andromeda, they haven't learned jack shit.
>>388113002
And then they put plans for the franchise on indefinite hold and dismantled the studio responsible. The things a company says are rarely as important as what a company does-they may talk a big game about progressiveness and standing by their product, but I doubt they're eager for a repeat of Andromeda's launch anytime soon.
>>388112273
100%
there's also a 100% chance it'll be objectively broken garbage like andromeda as well, and a 100% chance it'll seem like it was animated by unpaid interns (because it will be)
This is how EA works. You make a work environment so intolerable that everyone quits before they're entitled to any benefits, and you end up with teams made up entirely of shitheads fresh out of whatever diploma mill shat them out, and this is their first job in the industry and quite possibly their first job period.

EA has a monopoly on sports games and while they have that they will never go out of business.
>>388113682
>in 6 years EA share value quadrupled
what a good investment
>>388114690
They wouldn't have survived all the stupid shit they've done without a little financial know-how, anon.
>>388108959
Calling them all entitled didnt seem to affect anything so It doesnt matter how much shit bioware talks, people will still buy their games en masse, even if they suck
>>388116160
Wonder how far they can take it?
http://comicbook.com/gaming/2017/08/24/ea-confirms-that-mass-effect-will-return/
really makes me think
>>388117398
They are probably keeping Mass Effect alive as a failsafe incase Anthem fails.
They'll probably move full-time from ME to Anthem if it becomes a hit.
>>388117329
After the whole ME3 incident there isnt anything bioware can do to prevent people from buying their shit
