My G400 crapped out on me 2 years after use and still had warranty so they replaced it with the new version as long as you have the receipt.

i had that mouse and used it for like 10 years or something, just replaced it maybe a year or two ago

i got a zowie Za11 cause i dont like all the fancy dingdongs on other mice and it was alright but the side mouse button double clicks now which is insanely shitty

its still fine otherwise so ive been too lazy about replacing it but god its annoying, i wont be getting anything else zowie probably it should not have broke yet

If you want a serious answer the latest "evolved" version of the MX518 is the G400s. I don't think they make it anymore so it might be hard to find. But its basically the same as the MX518 but a newer sensor.

However, I'd recommend the G403 prodigy because it has the latest sensor. It's a different shape from the MX518 but it's still very high quality. Look up a review by Rocket Jump Ninja. He makes really good mouse reviews.

G502 is the replacement for the G500 and is currently one of the best mice on the market.

G403. You should check it out. I have it and would not trade it away. My last one was zowie fk2 and it was too small for me, even though I have pretty average hands. Also you should check out rocketjumpninja on YT. He does a lot of very detailed mouse reviews.

my Intellimouse wire failure was the saddest day of my life and probably what killed my Counter-Strike career.

then i used hand-me-down 518s, wire fails on both.
then i got a Proteus, then returned it because my g400 came. it came so late that i went out and got the Proteus.

i would use the Proteus since i don't play FPS anymore, the weight of it doesn't matter.

I have a G700s, but it might be overkill unless you really want 4 side buttons like I do. I've got the two upper side buttons bound to next track and play / pause for music and the lower two are default back / forward for general use and bindings in games.
