Pokemon was such a huge part of me and my friends' childhoods. It really can't be understated. Pokemon was life back then. It was everything we ever talked about.
I prefer Lake of Rage myself. It has that adventurous sound that takes me back to being an 8 year old kid, running around outdoors all day.

I think the remade version did a pretty good job. The problem I have with most of HG/SS's music is that they turned a lot of the songs into shuffle beats. I don't understand why.
For example Goldenrod City went from this somber, slow kind of tune to an upbeat, swingy one in the remake.

I'm more torn because I'm married, and very happily so. But it feels like one of those opportunities of a lifetime, like going up in an F-16 when I was in the ROTC in college (dropped out of it later). I'd be kicking myself if I didn't give it a shot, you know?

Keep in mind that the money has to go back to the wife. My room and board is free, but she's not coming with me.

That said, I'd be going for the 5-6 month range, not the year. I could take a leave of absence from my work without much difficulty, but would need to continue paying into my health insurance plan during that time.
