Have never played a dark souls but Ive read up on it and played most devil may crys.

Is dark souls ez mode devil may cry? The classic devil may crys got fucking hard with higher difficulty but it seems like dark souls are about memorizing specific ways of taking down some boss.

Not really. Dark Souls and DMC are pretty different from each other. You might have a difficult time adapting to the stamina system of DSand not being able to zip around with dashes and Stingers. In DS your combo will be limited by the stamina bar and there are no cancels. DMC is about being a cool animay man who can take on hordes of mooks with style while DS is more about being careful and picking off guys one at a time.

Honestly I preferred playing as Lucia more than DMC2 Dante. Maybe because I have a point of reference with Dante but Lucia is her own character. Also I liked her spinning knife attack, spammed that shit constantly. 2 is a terrible game but I'm not opposed to having Lucia at least make a cameo. Also a DMC2 Dante costume.

AJ was pretty bad, but it wasn't complete shit. The first two cases were pretty good, but the third was a bore at times, while the fourth just kind of lost the plot. DD was somehow worse, with the fact you can't investigate anything (making the investigations somehow even more boring), streamlined design, and the fact that a lot of the twists seemed like they were supposed to be big, but just didn't hold up because you didn't care about the characters.

SoJ is better, but that's not much of an accomplishment, considering the fact that DD was really bad. AAI and AAI2 were good for a spinoff, but that's about it. Some will say that AAI2 is on par with the third game, but it's not the best if you don't really like Miles that much. I can't say much about DGS as I haven't played it, but DGS apparently has good characterizations, but shit mystery. In other words, the complete opposite problem of DD. And a bunch of plotholes were left open for the sequel, which pissed people off.

DGS2, from what I've heard, is basically Shu Takumi going all out, and is supposed to be really good (and cover everything that the first game left open). Unfortunately, it's going to sell badly because of the first. PLvsAA is good, but Layton is way too prevalent. And the puzzles are pretty easy as well,
same thing with the court sections. The multiple witness stuff is cool though.

The game's haven't gotten to the point that they're unrecognizable ala. DmC and Lost Planet 3, but the games aren't as good as it was years ago. And I think part of that blame is due to how Shu Takumi basically took an 8 year break from the series (technically 11, as PLvsAA was only partially written by him), so he's probably out of practice.

DMC4 is only average. DD is also fairly average but in a sea of RPGs with terrible combat, DD stood out by having something fairly decent.
