We'll have to wait and see. Color Splash didn't sell well at all for a first party game, and that may have been the kick they needed to realize we don't like the new style. If we don't see Paper Mario at all by E3 2019, it's safe to say it's in the graveyard with F-Zero.

His mistake was trying to read the paper in the title as literally everything having to be made of paper instead of an art style (seeing as PM64 was called Mario's Story in japan), and then shoving stickers everywhere because of said paper
That and miyamoto preventing them from using OCs, the iwata asks interview said they had OCs but I think after SPM he got afraid of them

I bought sticker star on release day, didn't know anything besides those beta screenshots so I thought it would be like 64 or TTYD
Beat world 1 and was disappointed at the lack of partners, but I pushed through
Made it to the end, and no partners. i then completed the museum, thinking that this would give me the chain chomp partner
But nope, got nothing out of it, only wasted my time

Shit man, I had the same exact experience. Even on the smaller things I was thrown off like I tried Super Guarding and when I used the Hammer for the first time I tried holding left instead of pressing A at the right time. I was so fucking bitter by the time I got to that Jungle level where the huge cheep cheep is coming after you in the river.

The Wii U's problem was more to do with the 3DS. Too many games followed on from their 3DS counterparts when they should have been their own thing.
