To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewers head. There’s also Rick’s nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they’re not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn’t appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick’s existential catchphrase “Wubba Lubba Dub Dub,” which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev’s Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I’m smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon’s genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. "Don't use them if you don't like them" is invalid in almost every case it's brought up. It is a feature on the console, therefore it's now an option. This option makes some SNES games pointlessly easy in a way that they were not originally designed to be. Makes more sense to me. I suppose leaving out these features would only appeal to the niche audience like me who feel like these features are disingenuous to the original product. Regardless, it seems like an odd move for a company like Nintendo which seems very old-fashioned with decisions like these (for example, failing to support DVD playback as late as the Wii U, or the similar lack of online chatting).

it's mostly bullshit advertising backed by the barest hint of artificial scarcity. they WILL have a tiny sliver of unmet demand, but still far greater demand overall than if it were just a regular, readily available product.

it's the same scam as every other faux-collectible toy, eg. beanie-babies, tickle-me-elmo, etc., except they (seem to be) following through with single limited runs. whereas the classic model is to have an INITIALLY limited run (ie. during the pre-Holiday sales season) and then secondary releases with no actual scarcity (in the new year).

IMO they'll probably do N64 and then loop back to repeat the cycle. Or maybe they'll do the Gameboy line.
