After seeing the new footage, if this game gets anything higher than 8.0s you know Nintendo pays reviewers
>no challenge
>do the most basic things to collect power moons
>even bosses they've showed are are ridiculously easy
And this is when being compared to 64, not even Sunshine. It just looks to easy, too open and barren, and looks as if it lacks direction.
This is the first footage that scared me. Everything else shown up to this point has been great.
>>388003089
what footage?
>>388003170
I've seen nothing but great footage too
this is the most promising so far

>Nintendo pays reviewers
Im still waiting for your evidence to support this claim /v/.
Giving numbers to videogames is retarded
>>388003089
Ever played a Mario game before, OP? They're not trying to make a super difficult game because they don't cater to faggots that think games need steep learning curves like you do. You know what they do cater to? Masses of people because video games are a business and you are the sucker stupid enough to buy and rant about them.
>>388003089
>>no challenge
>>do the most basic things to collect power moons
>>even bosses they've showed are are ridiculously easy
So just like 64. Take off thr goggles and you will see that Sunshine, Galaxy 2, and 3D World are much harder games than 64, and the latter 2 have much better stage design.
>>388003430
they showed the first moon of the lunchdom kingdom during gamescom but don't pay attention to him. you should be capable to understand the people playing it obviously know everything beforehand, not to mention that it's the first moon of one of the first kingdoms
>>388003430
>butt-stomps a stack of boxes
>only breaks one
>>388003089
>talks to toad in 64
>gets a star
Woooooow so much challenge, much hard.
Name 5 hard stars in 64.
>first areas have easy shit
WOW
Dark souls babies wants everything hard
fucking summer
>>388003089
They've never pursued the hardcore crowd. Go play some romhacks or indie 2hard4u trash if you're not happy.
The big Nintendo franchises always get high scores, regardless of quality. It's not due to paid reviews but the reviewers themselves are usually huge fans.
>>388004273
Why didn't Tropical freeze get the 95 it rightfully deserves?
Welcome to Mario games. Only Nintendo series easier is Kirby.
>>388003089
>posting the old cover
now goyim it got censored
>>388004364
I said big franchises, Donkey Kong has fallen out of popularity a long time ago.
>>388004420
How the fuck is Donkey not a big franchise. It was a retro game no less.
>>388004497
it was a big franchise in the 90's. It no longer is anymore.
>>388004571
Donkey Kong Country Returns sold like 7 milllion copies
>>388003089
Wtf I absolutely love the look of that kingdom. Looks way way way better than any previous footage IMO.
We finally get a kingdom that doesn't look semi-realistic.
I want more kingdoms like these.
>>388003089
Got any link to said footage?
>>388004762
Did the mexico world look realistic?
>>388004981
Nah. Ever been to real world Mexico? I have. Total opposite of Tostarina
>>388004364
Because it's a hard and potentially exhausting game.
I have good faith they will pull this off, I honestly think it looks amazing
>>388004981
Nah, but I like that one too.
But New Donk, Forest and the Dino kingdom look pretty sure shitty.
I want more kingdoms like Mexico and Food.
>>388004757
>As of December 31, 2013, it has worldwide sales of 1.43 million.[41]
I don't believe it's sales more than tripled since
>>388005701
not him but I think you're looking at sales for the 3DS version
>>388006067
it's both versions.
>On September 12, 2013 Nintendo announced that the 3DS version has sold 268,000 units in the United States.[40]
I also don't believe that a single platform version's sales quintupled in 3 months after having been released already for 3 months
>>388004095
Any on that scary water level cause it was too scary for me
>>388006191
What are you talking about anon?
>DKC: Returns (Wii), 6.48M
>DKC: Returns 3D (3DS), 1.94M
>DKC: Tropical Freeze ( WiiU), 1.63M
>>388006191
DKCR Wii came out in 2010
http://www.vgchartz.com/game/45674/donkey-kong-country-returns/
/v/ will continue to shitpost about Mario Odyssey every day until release and then get hilariously BTFO just like they did with Breath Of The Wild.
I agree.
>>388004273
>The big Nintendo franchises always get high scores
Really makes you think.
>>388006661
god damn I know, but the 3ds version didn't come out until may 2013
>by september it had ~200k sales
>anon was insinuating that it had 1.4mil by that december
which is wrong.
>>388006441
where are these numbers from?
>>388004415
>you have to go back
How is it not worse now?
>>388006768
BotW was amazing for the first 50 or so hours. After that you just knew too much about why things happen
If Mario Odyssey gives me 50 hours comparable to BotW, I'm happy
>>388007001
Dude it already sold more than 4 millions shortly after release.
https://www.gamespot.com/articles/donkey-kong-country-returns-sells-42-million/1100-6296945/
It was a notorious hit. I remember more recent numbers but I don't know where they were.
>>388007302
thanks, I just realized I'm a retard who missed a line on wikipedia
>>388003089
>it looks buzzword buzzword buzzword
Nice
>>388003523
I don't want to reveal who I am, but I am a YouTuber, and every YouTuber friend I have who does reviews has been "incentivized" by Nintendo at one point or another for a positive review, usually monetarily. You guys have no reason to believe me, but I promise you, Nintendo pays for reviews.
>>388007001
Vgchartz, all you have to is literally Google DKC Returns Wii sales
>>388007527
My dad works at Nintendo and says that you are wrong
>>388007527
>You guys have no reason to believe me, but
No. You tried too hard. You just outted yourself as a bold faced liar
>>388003089
The difference being, in the game footage you can see that it takes like 20 moons from that stage to advance to the next stage.
Which is actually a good thing. It's better than the classic way of padding out collectathon challenges: "Collect the 15 pieces of the thing to get the thing" or "give 20 of this collectible in exchange for the thing".
It's 8 red coins randomly scattered through a level in 64 to get a single star, and 5 "secrets" to get another, and you advance with 3 stars. Now it's just 13 separate stars, but you need 20 to advance instead of 3.
>>388007527
kill yourself
>>388008043
thank you CapriSunClassicDabNerd
>>388008874

>>388007527
>>388003089
How come Nintendo gets called out for games being perceived to be easy but non-Nintendo games don't get called out for it as much as Nintendo does?
>>388007243
Mario games are never 50 hours long, maybe if you're doing multiple playtroughs
>>388006661
>vgchartz
>>388005291
Fuck off gamespot
