Why is this such a common opinion? 2 is 1 but with a number of quality life improvements, way better plasmids, improved graphics, and it was neat to play as a big daddy.

I think they compliment each other well with the whole individualism vs collective aspect, plus 2's gameplay is basically a straight upgrade

I think Bioshock is great and love the athestic of rapture absolutely, i'm replaying the first game and its pretty decent. My biggest gripe is the half assedness of the little sister. The fact that saving the sisters net you as much adam and new plasmids through gifts make killing them redundent.

Kiling the sisters should award the player with much more adam and different plasmids it would add to the morality of the situation.
Hell maybe its too much to ask but they could have takena fable route and tweak the plasmids based on the amount of little sisters the player has saved/killed the little sister.

Yeah Bioshock 1 started as as spoopy game but abandons it not even halfway through, and even if it was, it was a bad horror game then. 2 mercifully doesn't even try because the gameplay doesn't fit it at all.

It's hard to stay horror-themed when you get lightning powers within the first ten minutes. There were some spooky parts after that though.

There were a lot of fun and powerful weapons in 2 but once I got Drill Expert and Drill Vampire all I did was charge, bees and clones. It's pretty easy to break the game.

Has it really only been 10 years? I always feel like Bioshock came out in like, 2003 or something. It felt dated even when it came out.
