Start faeria instead. It's easier to get cards without paying, has much higher skill ceiling thanks to also being a board game and it's not as fucked up in terms of meta and cards effect.
It is somewhat fucked up right now because 1st expansion being released and there is a somewhat problematic card out of the new ones but it will get nerfed soon and I doubt you will see people abusing the meta when your elo is low

I saw this and Faeria about the same time.
Ended up playing Faeria, though. I like the land-build mechanic and power wheel.
Though going first against a neutral deck is annoying as piss because Explore + 2 Plains puts them a whopping two spaces from your God on their first turn and you pretty much have to do 2 Plains to close the gap or you hand them the ability to summon right next to your God. All you can do if you don't do that is hope you had or drew an Elemental.

Both Aggro and Vengeance Blood are really good right now, people are even playing Control Blood too but it's more of a tournament deck. Blood is one of the top contenders for nerfs if they decide to nerf anything this month because of the cards it got in WD.

The game showers you with free packs. Specially at the begginning. It has promotions very often as well, so expect lots of free shit coming your way. Still, with so many expansions released already it may take you awhile to have a decent collection of cards (though you could try and dust most of the useless cards and focus on trying to make one or two competitive decks).
