All characters all emeralds all silver medals but not gold yet. Some of the latter Blue Spheres are intentionally designed to make it shit-hard to get a perfect, but I'm working on it.

Solid game all around, probably close to best-in-the-series material for me - and I say that as a huge classicfag. There are some things that I still feel like could be improved on in a hypothetical Mania 2, including but not limited to
>The game could benefit from more quality-of-life improvements. Stuff like a button to skip cutscenes (it's annoying having to watch the first cutscene every time I start a No Save, especially since the extra abilities are No Save only), the ability to combine peel-out with drop dash/air slash, less ending lag on Knuckles' glide etc
>It'd be cool as fuck to get ghost replays in the time trial mode and a boss rush mode

I really wouldn't say that. Considering every act 2 (except Hydrocity) is almost all new level designs, gimmicks, backgrounds, music remix etc, you're really looking at something more like 1/3rd of the game being copied straight up. Just because its set in a familiar locale, doesn't mean that stages like Chemical Plant Act 2 and Oil Ocean Act 2 aren't basically all-new content. I'd still rather the entire game be all-new content but it's not nearly as bad as the fearmongerers are making it out to be.

This is blatantly untrue. No level in the game is a straight up copy at all (hurr durr hidden palace doesnt count)
The backgrounds (which even then are recreated and enhanced) and general themes are borrowed from the old games and the first acts follow similar design tropes but they are NOT the same levels.
Even fucking Hydrocity 2, the weakest act in the game in terms of new shit, has a different layout than its Sonic 3 iteration.

Just "fought" the ice ninja boss for the first time. When I say fought he immediately caught me in a loop on the wooden wall and suddenly the wall just gave way. I thought I had to go right like previous bosses and so I hopped to release the animals and suddenly the level cleared, the boss was standing right there next to me.

I've been taking it slow because the only way I can play the game right now is on my work's PS4 which is halfway across town at the office. I'm streaming from the PS4 that's sitting at the office at my job since I don't own one of my own. The input lag is actually a lot better than one would expect because I'm using the same ISP as my office so its fewer hops to get there. It requires a PS4 controller to work though, but since I don't own a PS4 I'm using an emulator that makes my Saturn controller look like a PS4 controller.

The Android/iOS versions aren't emulated, they're from the ground up ports using the same engine that powers Sonic Mania. If you happen to have a Fire TV or Android TV device, then they're available there and you can play them on your TV. Otherwise, Bluestacks will let you play them without any major issues.

"Sonic the Hedgehog" and "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" on the android/ios store are the mobile remakes by Taxman, which are the best versions of Sonic 1 and 2 currently out. Widescreen, 60fps, and extra features. I know my PC had some issues running some Android emulators like Nox, so if you run into issues, you can still emulate the originals. They're not terrible.
Sonic 3 Complete is the best version of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, but that's just a regular genesis rom file.
