Its an RPG, but your choices don't fundamentally matter very much. there is only one correct way to spend your stat points with one exception for a single class. There is basically no room for variety in the way you spend your skill points. All the classes have been seriously homogenized by a certain class of items, with one in particular being a major offender. One class is radically dominant in PvE and will never be balanced. PvP is usually more of a test to see who has the better ping. The sequel is has dramatically better gameplay but almost nobody will admit it because they can't see past the sequel's atrociously bad story (and their rose-tinted goggles are on too tight). The tutorial shows you how to cleverly sneak your way past enemy security, but you will never actually use these tricks because the actual game is basically a glorified 2d Zelda Boss Rush, where cheesy drawn out exposition dumps give you a harder time than the handful of enemies you run into in between the bosses.

You save the world (except not really, apparently??) with time shenanigans despite your actions almost certainly creating paradoxes which are never addressed except when the plot suddenly decides to address one early in the game before dropping the concept entirely.

The final boss screams really loudly in a rather obnoxious manner and best girl is not the canon love interest.

Basically the hardest game ever made. Makes casuals mad as fuck when they try it. Which also explains why /v/ loves to complain about it.

It's a shooting game. Half the screen is black and empty at all times, and really disorienting. You can get literally OHKO'd completely randomly by a stray shot from one of the NPCs 30 minutes into a mission and you can do nothing about it. No saves, either. The ending is a cliffhanger, and there will never be a sequel.

To top it all off, the thing most people remember the best about the game is one stupidly loud line of dialogue.

Skyrim with guns, but made by a competent dev.
