So are we done talking about the new trailer already?

Shenmue 3 is going to fail, simply because it'll serve as a reminder to nostalgiafags how awful the first two were.
Nobody really wants another awful QTE game.
has this been confirmed to only take place in a village? or have there been talks of urban city areas?

Most of /v/ is too young to have owned a Dreamcast.
Case in point

Jesus Christ these character models are embarrassing, who thought these and realistic environments will blend together?
Also, Shenmue died so an actual video game series could live.
>those models

I was a Segafag since the Genesis. Trying to deflect criticism with "hurr you never played it" is pathetic.
Shenmue is just all-round garbage. Awful controls, QTEs out the fucking ass, loads of meaningless filler bullshit to waste your time on, godawful dialogue and a story that would've been better as an 80 minute movie instead of trying every lame trick in the book to stretch it out for three entire games.

>too young to have owned a Dreamcast
Nigger, NO ONE owned a Dreamcast, otherwise it wouldn't be dead after 3 years.

I owned a dreamcast, I played 1 and then 2 on Xbox (as an american I had no other way to play it). It's been over 10 years since I last played either so I only vaguely recall plot elements. The two mirrors (Phoenix/Dragon) together are supposed to make a map when you have smoke over them or some shit like that/awaken some kind of demon named Chi You, which Lan Di's gang is named after. With that said, both me and my brother (long term fans who were looking forward to this) thought the trailer looked amateurish and I'd say >>387909850 is right. The models clash with the environment. I'd be hopeful and dismiss it as test footage, but Shenmue got itself involved with Kickstarter so any hope I have is grim.

To look at it from another angle; l always disliked the QTEs in Shenmue. The "it" of the game was elsewhere though.
The feeling of place, of being in a slice of inhabited world for you to dwell in and *interact* with instead of just explore, consume and forget was pretty much the best it had t offer.
Slice-of-life in video game form. I don't think most people cared about the main story.
Very few games managed to do something similar properly. Bumpy Trot maybe?
Not like anyone was interested in doing so.
Ryu ga Gotoku is in a weird middle ground. You have the place, but the interactions are heavily filtered to present the player that underworld crim experience. And while I love the games, they don't exactly scratch the same itch.
>Kickstarter project to revive a old fan-favorite niche title
You people will never learn, will you?
They must have been under some serious pressure to release new footage. These models just aren't acceptable teaser material.

Those graphics look like shit

Yu Suzuki went from being at the forefront of graphics and technical innovation to trapped in the past with kikestarter funding. JUST

Too many plebs and children who can't appreciate Shenmue for what it did and what it was to have any real discussion.

The graphics don't really bother me, it looks good enough.
But those animations could use some work.
