Just recently picked this up and how do I fucking wreck AI in this game? I start with 2 AIs and it keeps cucking me from both fucking sides, at sea and land as well. What do I do? What should I focus on? Is cavalry the strongest unit in game? I just don't get how does bot expands so fast and builds armies so fast, it's like 30 minutes and he has a whole fucking fleet while also destroying my ships in previous stages. Should I aim for as much villager as I can to exhaust gold mines as fast as I can? Age of Empires 2 thread I guess.

>Is cavalry the strongest unit in game?
yeah it's the strongest unit

Open your desired map in the editor, delete enemy units until they've got a single horse or peon left, then enjoy your comfy city building sim.

The bots cheat breh. But they are also easily beaten by skilled players. Anyway, google is your friend. But online multiplayer is a hell of a lot more fun.

>What do I do?
Learn basic build orders, timings and strategies for a handful of your favorite civs to play as.
>What should I focus on?
getting good
>Is cavalry the strongest unit in game?
Generally yes, but AoE2 is a game of rock-paper-scissors. Cavalry will do poorly against pikemen but cavalry in general is pretty strong.
If you can't defeat the hardest AI in vanilla AoE2 then you're a scrub. Check some tuts and strategies.
1v1, huns only, arabia
>have to adopt korean starcraft strategies and have your brain cybernetically linked to the computer to beat the AI
Guess RTS's aren't the genre for me
campaign is the only way to play AoE.
Multiplayer is too stressful

Download the [ZeroEmpires] Fast Castle Tutorial from the steam workshop, practice the scenario until you get at least a C. Then you should be able to beat mid level AI easily.
>Is cavalry the strongest unit in game?
Well, I mean technically pound for pound the Persian War Elephant is the "strongest" unit it the game. You should use a cavalry army if you're playing a cavalry civilisation.
