I just started Bayo 1 after playing a ton of other character-action games DMC4, Revengeance, Transformers: Devastation, Wonderful 101, etc and I find it hard to go back to. It just feels way less smooth than those games. Anybody else have this problem?

Yeah, exactly. And it's a little too... I don't wanna say jank because it's not, but it's less polished than later games. Combos don't flow into each other as smoothly as they do in Revengeance, for example.
