Half Life 3 may be coming soon
Valve bought anti-piracy trial and are now removing every half-life (downloads, torrents) content from the web.
This might mean that they're preparing to attack piracy for an upcoming release in half life franchize
>>387882235
c'mon dont delude yourself like this you know better
???
it makes me happy to know that this game will never be released
>>387882235
>still giving a shit about reddit: the game
>>387882235
Source?
>>387882490
yeah, that's the engine
Why would valve try to counter attack piracy for such an old and "discontinued" franchize such as half-life then? Monday (August 21st) they started giving out DMCA notices for every uploaded file that is from Half Life franchize
it's almost like game companies dont want you pirating their shit
>>387882571
these """leaks""" for their games are shit
>HL3 speculation is now in the realm of schizo conspiracy theorists
It's a first time that Valve is using other company to do this thing. They've never done this before
>>387882571
It could be related to Half Life movie. It could be that Valve is even more jewish now. Who knows and who cares, there is simply no people left to do such a game for years, nor the structure or motivation for it.
>>387882598
but why they wake up now, tho? when every person who have a toaster already played all the franchise
>>387882571
Could be they've contracted a third party which is going hog-wild.
I remember when the TF2 soundtrack was released as a record the music started getting DMCAs left and right.
>>387882746
Exactly this. I can tell you that a company that attacks piracy Yesterday sold valve a trial and they started sending notices for half life uploaded content
Even if they were to release it the hype will have been too much. The game will never, and the Rock means never, live up to expectations that sweaty virgins have put on the title for a decade+.
Let half life die already.
>>387882414
You seriously need to buy a helium tank, or at least rent it.
>>387882729
Leave Half Life 3 to me.
>>387882712
>implying it hasn't always been in the realm of schizo conspiracy theorists
>>387883385
THE FUCKS ARE AT IT AGAIN
wait this is a better one
The series sucks cock, you're not getting a third game. Move on.
they're prepping up for a one-year-long hype/marketing campaign that will climax on November 19, 2018 for the 20th anniversary of the HL1 release
OP is telling the truth. I can vouch for him. My mom works as Gabe's personal cat-ear maid. She said HL3 will come out in 2018.
The expectation is too high (eventos when the other ganes are meh). They will never realize it
Even if it does come out and is good it would still get slated.
Halflife 2 had loads of nuances and brilliant stuff but people playing games nowadays that didn't grow up with the series are mostly ADHD riddled. It's why you see threads slamming the half life series but praising anime ass/tiddie games.
Games have degenerated.
>>387882598
I think the only way they can accomplish that is by streaming games with cloud gaming, and most people aren't ready for that yet.
they need to protect their copyright/IP for legal reasons or some shit
I thought piracy was a service problem?
>>387883385
shovel! yourself! out of the shit! two coats, guaranteed!
It won't be released OR it will but it's going to be a MASSIVE dissapointment on current gen. Half Life 2 was only good because it was one of the first game that introduced physiques and movable objects with interesting game mechanics behind it. If they will just it out on the new Source 2 engine then yeah it will be maximum decent, but not as good, the hype is just too big at this point that the game can't live up to it. We need something breaktrough technology wise in the gaming industry to make Half-Life 3 great again and I doubt that is going to happen anytime soon. The next step is VR with good graphics or really advanced AI, but these are not fully developed yet.

>you'll never know what happened after gordon's blackout following the advisors attack
"Dad! Dad! Oh no... Dad..."
>>387889554
he fucking died
Personally, i hope they don't make the entire game be about getting to the borealis.
I want it to take place on a combine mothership with all kinds of crazy shit.
Just have the borealis teleport gordon to it.
atleast ubisoft can count to 3
>>387890030
I wish they couldn't
>>387882235
At this point, HL3posting is shitposting. You can't even make fun of it
>>387890030
really I count just two origins and legends
>>387889554
You valvefags only have yourselves to blame, you made them so successful that they don't have to give a shit about making anything now
Even if it does come out and it's a solid 10/10 game it'll still disappoint. It's been way too long, nothing can save it now. Expectations are impossible to meet by this point. The rest of us just stopped giving a shit about HL all together.
Valve knows this. It's not gonna happen.
Sounds entirely plausible and I'm sure it's going to be very easy to provide any evidence of these claims that are also very consistent with what we know about Valve history and strategies.
>>387883385
Please based gearbox, do it.
HOLY SHIT CHECK STEAM FRONT PAGE

>IT'S REAL

>>387891878
Nice argument nerd
>>387882557
had a hearty chuckle with that one.
>>387882235
>force patches that worsen the game
>try to remove superior versions
>>387882557
So, when will Source 2.0 finally be released?
>>387895151
2020
>>387895151
dota uses it
>>387883385
THE NINTH LEVEL OF HELL AWAITS YOU
>>387888983
This is probably accurate
>literally give out Half Life 2 for free on Steam all the fucking time
>crack down on people pirating it
for what reason?
>>387882598
Valve never cared, its how they made employees 10-20 years ago
>>387884470
>2013
If only I could warn myself in 2010
>>387882557
O U.
>>387890304
What's wrong with the first one?
>>387882235
They're taking them down in preparation for a HD rerelease, dingus. Valve will never make HL3, and even if they did it would be absolute shit since they're so rusty now.
>>387898775
probably hired a legal firm to "look after their interests"
said legal firms chases every little thing thing chargeable ~ $2000 p/h
its how lawyers live
