To be fair, God's Archipelago was the only one that's remotely worth anything over 30 of them (for 99 it certainly was), anything that required much more were dragon element weapons with shit raw that generally get outclassed by regular and White Fatalis weapons, sometimes even Stygian Zinogre ones.

I think pic related was the biggest bullshit when it came to crafted stuff though.

MHGen already made it stupid easy to get Rathalos rubies, the real casual filter to rare drops is carving vs capturing for each monster and finding the right quests. The only meme drop in that game was Hellblade Powder, which thankfully in XX you probably won't even need to bother with since its weapons are all shit now.
