I've never played a zelda game before, what would be the best game for a newcomer?

Start with the first if you can handle an NES game
A Link to the Past otherwise

I mean I can emulate any of the zelda games since I have a PC other than the wii one and the switch one.
wand of gamelon
idk but after you play the mainline games pick up Hyrule Warriors for tons of fun.

I don't own a Wii, Wii U, or Switch

3ds?
>>387861078
you can actually emulate the switch one on your pc using cemu since it's also on wii u

>doesn't know practically every zelda is easy as shit
Just pick whichever interests you.

Yeah, but it's a really old 3DS, like a model when it first came out so it's not that graphically powerful as the later models

I don't think it matters really.

I mean I played Pokemon Moon on it and I would get slowdown during double battles and Z-moves

As somebody who entered the series through the 3DS versions and then played the rest, it's a good choice.
Ocarina of Time for 3DS is absolutely great. Purely because aiming with the gyro sensor on the 3DS kicks the shit out of the poor aiming on the N64
