the last boss is mostly a level-check. The reincarnation attack can wipe your party really easy on lowish levels but isn't much of a problem otherwise. I was getting my ass handed to me even though people online called it disappointingly easy. I did some of the side content and steamrolled her afterwards

Strange journey,Smt 1,i would say the story Smt 2 is fantastic but it's plagued with some side quest non-sense like the pillars,and to asemble the prince which add nothing to the story.

SMT4 story is bad the routes are way too much divied and not in a good way...with way too much neutral pandering, and said neutral having way more content the both law and chaos.

I've been getting into the SMT series recently and played through Nocturne, SJ, DDS 1 and 2 and currently playing IV.
And I have to say, I liked Nocturne the most, so your "Nostalgia" claim falls kinda flat.
