Doesn't matter what precisely happened. Only thing that matters is she saved the world and you helped her by being a good father. That's the point of the story. Remember her saying "What do you know about saving the world, silly? You're but a witcher"? The story was about Ciri, not Geralt, and about helping her fuflfil her destiny and make the best of her talents. You know, much like a real parent should prioritize their child's life over their own. You're not the hero, she is. In fact, you're just a witcher, and a good father (hopefully).
