None of these people working on Fear Effect games, either the remake or the new game, have anything to do with the original Fear Effect team. The guys working on Fear Effect Sedna are just some random indies that petitioned Square to make another Fear Effect game and were approved. These remake guys are some Polish mobile developer so I'm guessing it's just some contract work.

After their first Collective game came out and was successful, Square let them use anything out of Eidos old back catalog (Fear Effect, Gex and Arachnorox have been chosen by a dev each iirc).
The devs have been pretty faithful on getting as much as they can from the trams whove worked on the previous games. Including Inferno.
