There are a lot of Japanese games that are influenced alot by Western games and became successful not only in their home country but abroad as well.
What are some Western games influenced by the Japanese that are successful?
A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BEACON

I can't think of any major successes...
There were games like Child of Light, but I'm not sure if you can call it succesfull.
Then you have games that banked on Japanese aesthetics rather than mechanics like Shogo or Oni but those weren't exactly smashing hits either.
Undertale.

I'm sorry, are you asking for western games with Japanese themes and aesthetics? That's not how I interpreted the question. Skullgirls is indeniably influenced by Japanese 2D fighting games, from MvC to anime fighters to Street Fighter.

Skyrim influenced many Japanese series after it was released, most notably Zelda

even if we were to go off of it being influenced by vampire savior aka darkstalkers, that's still a japanese fighting game.
