Want to live in myCities:Skylines thread?
Post you're worst cities.
What are the best interchanges?
>>387756318
>Rolling power outages
>Population plummetting
>Waste disposal system is fucked
>Everything is packed tight, and its loud as fuck
>House right next to the interstate
>Some giant ass roundabout, miss your exit and you're in it for the long haul
>But that giant pillar of earth
Tempting
>>387756318
I really want to play this game, but having it so you only have one main road really rustles my jimmies.
If you brought power and shit to the plateau I would totally live in a nice house on top of it and laugh at the peasants below
>>387756318
where's the poo lake?
how can I live in a city with no poo lake?
>>387757316
>only have one main road
are you daft
>>387758058
You start with a road you expand from the border and build roads from it.
That concept is cool until you become so big and traffic becomes an issue.
>>387758217
>not making it a one way road around your entire city
grids are bad
i just bought this game, is it fine vanilla or are there necessary mods?
>>387759049
mods eat up a lot of resources in this game
whats a good way to make pretty city while having a decent revenue near the beginning of the game.
>>387760731
raise taxes
>>387758653
So is the curved road tool. I would do a lot less grids if getting a road to curve the way I want it to wasn't a ten minute exercise in trial and error.
Is there some way to extend the damn grid so I can snap to it without having to waste money building a scaffold of roads around where I want to build just for some snap points?
>>387760731
I think setting taxes to 9% is the best. Also have some industry around as money in this game is easy to make.
are there mods for mixed use zoning and customizable public spaces
>>387761161
Do you like my city?
>have almost 500 hours game played time
>keep deleting cities as they look like shit or a mod broke my city
>finally started on a city last month and now it's coming a long great
For once I have a city to share.
>>387756318
>make a city on a bunch of islands surrounded by water
>want more space
>slowly make dirt-dams around the area and suck all the water away for drinking
>delete any harbor in the area
>boats still come through like they own the dam place
>>387761701
Found an old screenshot of my home city I was working on before the save file got corrupt.
RIP 100 hours.
>>387761786
>a tsunami hits shorty after, filling up my newly claimed land
>put some canals and water pumps in the top right area to try and soak it all away
>too late the damage is done
>everyone jumps ship just because the lower part of the city suddenly got flooded
>the boats continue to come through my land
>Subscribe to cool looking map
>Start new game on map
>Look at it
>Close game
Every time.
Help.
Oh, I bought this game, too.
Really fun shit.
Let me get a screenshot.
Can I pirate the DLC for my legitimate Steam copy?
>>387758653
ffs, is this for real?
Comfy nighttime.
I'm glad screenshots don't show fps.
Is there a city builder where you make cities for people and not cars?
>>387763846
BUILD INTERCHANGES OR DIE!
>>387763918
Well, building walkable paths on this game will save you a whole lot of traffic if you do it properly.
>>387762658
looks like florida from the road address, figures
>>387763918
you make them for both in cities skylines, even though the game tells you that residents prefer walking over taking a car to a place, so its good to add walkways, public transportation, hell even taxis
>>387763918
this game isn't TOO bad for that. it's just that american players seem to think cars first, and design their cities as groups of little hubs connected to a highway. you don't have to do that.
>>387758653
>16 minutes for going across the road
Wew lad.
But really, these tracks that split and merge again are pretty fucking neato. I'm stealing those.
>all interchanges have traffic lights
no wonder it turns to shit after you hit like +40k population
>>387756318
I've got almost 200 hours in the game but I can't stand how dumb the traffic ai is sometimes
>>387764407
You can turn them off now.
>>387764881
yes
it makes it more bearable
so are any of the dlcs essential?
>>387765236
After Dark and maybe Mass Transit are the only ones worth getting.
Snowfall is nice if you like trams and natural disasters is ok if you want to cause chaos in your city.
