How would you compare these two?
I haven't played Demon Souls yet.
>demon's souls is a more concise, polished experience with a grim horror fantasy aesthetic. Some levels border on straight horror. It has a hub-world structure with separate worlds/levels that are all well realized.
>dark souls is more ambitious yet flawed experience with a less grim and more melancholic atmosphere evident by its dilapidated high-fantasy aesthetic. Its levels are all interconnected forming a giant world with shortcuts across various areas; some levels are underdeveloped.
what this dude said ^
but also, dark souls improved upon demon's souls mechanically in almost everyway.

play it and form your own opinions faggot

Demon's Souls is a good game.
Dark Souls is essentially a memified version of that game that caters to the underage redditor crowd.

>game caters to the audience of a website that didn't even exist at the time
DeS is more consistent in quality. DaS has higher highs and lower lows but improves over DeS in a ton of ways, it's just a far better game.
Demons souls is more old fashioned compared to dark souls, it was going for the old school dungeon crawler feel, while dark souls is a more modern game, the controls feel different, a little rigid in demons, more developed in dark souls

Reddit was started in 2005 and became popular around 2010/2011

Demons's is a beta test for Dark Souls. Except nobody cared because it's PS3 and not PC.

what?

Demon's Souls plays like an experimental 3D hack-and-slash Megaman game.
Dark Souls is the same with a connected/open world feeling.

>Demon's is a beta test
Pretty fucked up when the beta is better than the final, unfinished, unbalanced released.
>reddit popularized Dark Souls
You underaged niggers don't even remember when DaS released. It didn't get attention until it was released on PC, coincidentally it was also released in a very unfinished state and never really got finished.
Remember to buy the DLC tho lol. Preparetodieamirite?
>>387682562
Yeah, but that's the state of modern gaming.
>>387682660
>It didn't get attention until it was released on PC
don't tell lies, son
>>387677429
>overlook how shitty Valley of Defilement and Shrine of Storms are
>Don't say anything about Dragon God being a beta version of Bed of Chaos
>Claim Stonefang Tunnel is well realized while it's as generic as generic can be, dwarves, mines, volcano and looks straight of a Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance game
>Proceeds to call Dark Souls a flawed experience because of of Lost Ysalith (which is justified) but shits also on Duke's Archives, Crystal Caverns, Tomb of the giants for no reason
Fandom never changes.
>Dark Souls 1 is now reddit
/v/ everybody
