Why is the whole dubs vs. subs thing so much more of a contentious issue in videogame and anime circles than it for other mediums? You don't see film enthusiasts REEEEEEEEE'ing at each other over it and disclaimers being plastered all over obviously foreign movie covers.
Video games and anime aren't taken seriously as a medium. Meanwhile, it's sacrilegious to dub something like an Akira Kurosawa film.
Because no film enthusiast would ever watch a dub under any circumstances, for animation you could make a case for it
I liked that game and fucking nobody ever wants to actually talk about it

Anime dubs are dogshit

It came out on the Wii U. If only it were on Switch

I love it too, anon.

>and fucking nobody ever wants to actually talk about it
because it seemed to do everything possible to repel potential buyers:
>WiiU only
>not a SMTxFE crossover
>unnecessary censorship
recipe for failure
I surprised to some see some people complain that there was no dub for this since you don't really see that happen that much.

I like this game to anon but it's kinda hard to talk about this game without alot hate coming into the thread.

In my opinion, if a game takes place in Tokyo, especially historic cities with a lot of culture behind them, leave it in Japanese with subs.
Yakuza 1 was a complete miss by trying to dub it into English, for example. Sometimes language is inseparable to a local city's culture

It's a shame, since it's probably one of the better JRPGs of the last few years. And this is coming from someone who hates idolshit.

*or any especially historic Japanese cities
I accidentaly some words sorry

Because video games are an interactive and often fast-paced medium. Dubbing video games is, unlike most other mediums, a logical extension of these strengths: removing a language barrier makes it easier to react to information quickly, and (provided that the acting isn't garbage) allows players to better relate to characters over long periods of time.
Subfags are largely retarded weebs spilling over from /a/ who do not realize that something can be correct in one medium and incorrect in another.
