I don't think I've ever wanted a group of characters to die so much in a video game before Gears 4. My god what a horrible, horrible script and just the worst characters I've ever fucking experienced.

Reyna's the only bad character. The young folk are supposed to be like the cringy college kids who didn't get exposed to the war and they're going to develop to be pretty cool later on. I could already see the development near the end of the campaign.

The campaign is fucking awful. Nothing is done with the gameplay in an interesting manner and it's pretty much enter a room, clear the bad guys, move on. The story isn't any good either and the main leads are only there to diversify the cast with a latina female and a funny black guy, which the latter contributes literally nothing to the plot. He has no backstory and is irrelevant unlike the main lead and the female. There isn't even a fucking villain in the game, it's just hordes and hordes of guys. Where is a character like RAAM? Best part is Marcus but even then he's wasted.

It's a shame

A lot of people see Gears as a singleplayer. So many of them will just end up trying the campaign which 4 happens to be the absolute worst one and totally miss out on the multiiplayer.

They lost me since judgement. It shouldn't have been a full price for a shitty story that was as short as the DLC Shadow of RAAM or whatever it was called, and having the shotgun's crosshair permanently on screen and spawning with granades casualized too much.

Gears 4 is nothing like Judgment. That was basically EPIC's last try at experimenting with Gears before they handed it to Microsoft, and it was developed in a year. Gears 4 is developed by a new different company who got the gameplay, weapons and maps down, but the story is kind of playing it safe and the horde is too grindy beyond Hardcore.
