In this game, in sharp contrast to many other post 2000 games, you can run into enemies that are too strong for you. That said, there are options to either deal with those enemies, or to evade them.

If you don't like the idea of this, you should not play DD any longer, and you should not consider yourself an rpg fan.

The truth is anon, the bandits I think you're running into give everyone trouble the first time. The problem is it's a low level quest going through a higher level area. What I suggest is just running passed them and explore that area later.

Yeah, they're way over your level when you (probably) first meet them.

Just run past them to get to that particular side-quest because otherwise you might lock yourself out of that whole arc by advancing in the main story too much.

You should get some armour for your character in the village, but not break the bank. Once you get to Gran Soren there'll be a lot more armour available. What IS important is to upgrade armour and weapons at the smithy.
