You don't need to pirate it. When you download the free game it downloads all of the assets, both original and remastered (you can check yourself if you don't believe me; the game takes up WAY more space than it used to). That's why the game instantly becomes the remastered edition when you buy it through the in-game checkout, and it's also the reason you can unlock the remastered edition by just changing a few files. People are already doing it. How Blizzard fucked up this badly I do not know.

The free version has literally everything but matchmaking and updated graphics, so yes. You can even play with Remastered players.

Even jewing matchmaking at the last moment, they should've had a free week of matchmaking on the SD version to draw in new blood.
