The problem in that instance is having 'best weapons', just like any RPG with 0.0001% drop rates for best in slot equipment.
The patrician system will always be having a variety of weapons that are essentially as powerful as each other but that can be used drastically differently from each other for different situations, but asking devs to employ interesting and fun mechanics like that instead of just BIGGER NUMBERS is too much I guess

Durability-restoring items were limited, so you had to save your best weapons for big fights and use disposable weapons to clear out minor enemies. Dying to a boss over and over had actual consequence as your weapon's durability would decrease each time until it was no longer usable, rewarding good players and punishing shitters.

Durability was a great mechanic in Fallout NV, especially if you play as a melee character.
Instead of taking the best weapon and sticking with it, you actually had to strategically plan which weapon to use when.
To not waste the durability of better Weapons on weaker enemies you should always bring a weaker alternative weapon with you. That makes the game more interesting than the bland "this weapon has a higher number than the other weapon that's why I will only use this one from now on" gameplay that made Fallout 4 so boring.

It straight removes any incentive to find better weapons because they will be broken in 10 hits, and by extension greatly hurts the exploration.
Final nail in the coffin is master sword, after that shit was piling in my inventory aimlessly.
At the very least bow should've been static but upgradeable.
>>
>>387620859
So why not make a new character then?
>>
>>387622728
>It straight removes any incentive to find better weapons because they will be broken in 10 hits
But that's retarded and reversed. It INCENTIVIZES getting good weapons constantly because you're burning through them. And gives you a meaningful reward for exploration way more regularly.

Master Sword runs out of power regularly so nothing was "piling" in your inventory unless you literally just left the game running for the sword to recharge every fucking time. And honestly if you just singlemindedly used the master sword no fucking wonder you didn't enjoy the game it rewards creative play and you're trying to play it in the most vanilla way imaginable
>At the very least bow should've been static but upgradeable.

It's enough to clear virtually any encounter in the game and recharge doesn't take that long compared to the size of a world.

I have this issue way too much. Also had a crouch reflex to make myself smaller, the result was I just got headshotted a lot. Whenever im in a tight spot I spend 1 second aiming down sights rather than just shooting

>far cry 3 is about not only adapting to the jungle, but mastering it.
>in order to do that you must master all aspects of the jungle
The best part of the game is becoming a bad ass, and then being a bad ass for a while before getting the wingsuit and being a major badass who can virtually fly.

I assume when you attach a suppressor, you're also loading subsonic rounds which would do (only slightly) less damage

the point of durability in MMOs is to slow down bots. they can't grind if their gear is broken

In New Vegas it was pretty much crafted to the pre-dlc level cap(DLCs each increase cap by 5, so goes from 30 to 50), and having a God-ok-all-skills Renaissance man character was much harder with just level 30 although it was still quite powerful. Average skill points per level is probably around 15, x30 you have 450 points to play with which taking tag skills into account you can probably max out about 5-6 skills, but there's what, like 12 skills to choose from? So OP but not as much as it could be. Now add another 300 points and you're a walking death machine and the game loses all challenge.
So you roleplay as a cowboy or as someone who uses nothing but big guns or whatever to prevent yourself from becoming stealth archer.
Meanwhile fallout 4 is just broken and there's no real specialisation that you can do

"Recoil" designed by people who have never held a gun in their life. If you've ever actually used a firearm, or even knew shit about game design, you wouldn't put this shit in any game.
>>
>>387628408
That's because they did.
>>
Giving the player "options" but every option isn't equally viable. It's literally deceiving people into thinking the game has more diversity than it does and people will defend it because "hurr casuals".

WoW in a nutshell
Has been inscription good since WOTLK? No.
>>
>>387629189
for some reason at the start of Legion I made a shitload making those week-long runes and artifacts that only Inscription could make even though they're fucking garbage
I only took it for rp purposes and this is literally the first time it's made me any money

Or you could raise your crafting classes to max and then just repair your armor to higher than max as long as you've got the correct level dark matter on you.

>shotguns do more damage anyways.

its a hammer vs axe vs sword dilemma applied to guns for the sake of balance, deal with it

To be honest, the last time I've seen an actual profession that was usefull in any way on the last expansions are
>jewelry (muh jews)
>Alchemy (fucking God-like buff that lasted 3 days without getting rekt)
>engineering (I think? I remember it was good before for the rogues)

>>
>>387631448
The only time I've ever seen enemies using laser sights in a way that makes any logical sense was in Crysis. They'll sweep the area with the laser, and if they shine it on you while you're cloaked, it'll give away your position.

durability isn't the reason the system is shit. The system is shit because of how few item classes (ie weapon movesets) there are. Durability is a bandaid to hide this fact. You're only going to use a weapon for a short time and are forced to keep changing, which holds off this realisation for longer.
Compare to previous games in the series with deku nuts, hookshots, etc. Hell, even compare to Skyrim, where the magic system, while it's pretty shit, adds a whole pile of ways to attack things. BotW is a shallow experience with half of the features dedicated to hiding that fact
>>
>>387626590
Far Cry games were fantastic doing that. Even Zelda BOTW did it as well.
