Bloodborne is trash, welcome to the real main course kid.

First off, fashion is secondary. You can't choose what you wear based off what you think is good. This ties into the second point.

This game doesn't just test mechanical skill (your ability to dodge, heal, and manage stamina) it also test your gear and enviromental skill. This games enviroments will kill you just as much the bad guys will, and if you don't constantly check your gear upkeep, what spells or weapons you're using, what is available, you'll lag behind.

The bosses in this game deal a shit ton more damage and are meant to be avoided, they will have more telegraphed moves than ones in bloodborne or ds3. You can do everything and see everything before it happens, and it will hurt. Poise is important, make sure your equip load is 50% or lower, I'd recommend dex/str for your first playthrough, don't use guids.

The reason I say dex/str is because magic and stuff is a lot harder to get a hold of, and leveling dex and str alongside end and vit will allow you to use most weapons to their highest potential since most weapons scale off both.

You should already know this from bloodborne, but make sure to roll into an attack or in the opposite direction of the swing (roll right if it's swinging from left to right). Never roll back, because a lot of attacks will still hit you. Some attacks are huge AOEs that are best avoided by moving out of range as opposed to dodging.
