Why are they adding basic team deathmatch mode when the game isn't even slightly balanced around simply running around and killing eachother? Oh boy I can't wait for Mei vs. 76 vs. Roadhog every single match.
If I wanted deathmatch i'd go continue playing Quake Live or any other decent arena shooter. Overwatch isn't a fucking arena shooter but they're forcing it in anyway. Just stupid.

The best custom game was the bootleg Tribes mode consisting of CTF, only Pharah and Mercy, but everybody moved fast as a motherfucker.

Anyway, to answer your question, there's really nothing about Overwatch's basics that inspires emergent gameplay.

Hence, server browser is just the dollar menu version of a better FPS's community servers with more elaborate mods.

Hell, deathmatch's only productive purpose would be to contain all the instalocking Genji and Hanzo mains but it's not even gonna do that, I bet.
