I have all of them

The only Wario game that I've ever played through is Wario Land on the Virtualboy.

I remember Wario being very bulky, shoulder rushing into dudes, throwing dudes, and breaking boxes from the top, and the big gimmick of the game was jumping back and forth between the foreground and background environment (sorta like Paper Mario, but you'd see in physically jump back and forth in 3D)

Was a good game. Was Wario Land on the Virtualboy entirely its own original game or was it adapted from another Wario title?

Virtual wario plays a lot like 1, but it's its own game.
2-3 are more puzzle focused, you can't even die in them.
4 has health and more combat, but still has a good amount of puzzles. It also has the best timed sections in any game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fihc2ONQ5v0
