I personally hate Long War, it just seems to make things needlessly complicated. War of the Chosen seems to take a LOT of influence from Long War though so we'll see

I'm definitely picking it up but I'm not sure if I'm going to do it immediately or not. I watched some nerds streaming it and even though the bit I saw looks nice I'm not sure if I'm in the mood for some Xcom right now. Been in a bit of a gaming funk in general.

I am disappointed that they're caving to the babies and adding options to lessen and/or remove mission timers though. Leave it as is, let them live with the stink of mods if they want to shame themselves.

Completely New mechanics for upgrades,
3 New minibosses that each get stronger through the campaign and you need to beat them via a string of side missions (and you can take their weapons after you kill them)
3 New allied factions with separate abilities and strengths
Resistance fighters actually fight back during terror missions
Soldiers can get fatigued
Soldiers can form bonds with other teammates for special bonuses
3 New basic enemy types including a healer and an asshole that can create clones of your squad members

that's all the stuff I know off the top of my head. Seems like it would be worth 30 at least. They said it's double the size of Enemy Within
