It's even more hilarious on how the Nerevarine wipes out the entire Dark Brotherhood in Morrowind.
Morrowind's powerscale goes off the chart so early, the base game and both expansions end up with you fighting literal Gods.

So i have recently started morrowind for the first time
I am doing the mages guild quests, i just finished the guild dues. not in a bad way but when does the game grip me? i am enjoying most of it apart from the cliff racers and massive amounts of traveling (i can appreciate it and i know it gives the world a huge sense of scale and time)

I could really do with some decent hints and tips for a first time player but preferably ones that dont spoil or break the game for me.

That's the main problems with them. It's just that they are such an obvious design fuck up that they become a meme. New players REALLY should only play the game with the mod that delay them.

the first thing to keep in mind is that the appeal to morrowind is the lore/story/dialogue, etc. Get ready to read a lot. Get ready to explore a lot. Talk to people, pick up books, visit towns nobody told you to go to, etc. It is not a hack and slash game like Oblivion/Skyrim. You will spend most of your time walking and talking.

That being said. Raise Endurance to 100 as fast as possible. Have a good mix of skills in major/minor and misc, so that you can visit the trainers before leveling up to get as many stat-ups as you can. Always put 1 level into luck too.

Also, you might want to start with spears or long blade in a major skill just to make life easier. Restoration is a really good one too. You can get through the entire game with 30 restoration and Hearth Heal.
